Into Dust Print
The Road to Nowhere collection, inspired heavily by the Talking Heads song of the same name, was born from my love of the desert. It's giving soft desert tones, golden healer quartz, vintage Turkish rugs, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, terracotta pots, and polychrome jasper. I think it might be the most “me” of any collection I’ve ever curated.
This print features an improvised biblical line from “Sparrow,” my absolute favorite track on Simon + Garfunkel's debut album, Wednesday Morning 3 am:
Who will love a little Sparrow?
Will no one write her eulogy?
"I will", said the Earth
"For all I've created returns unto me
From dust were ye made and dust ye shall be"
I first drew this tiger while in Tucson on Lunar New Year (year of the tiger!) and eventually imagined it into this reminder that we came from this earth and we will one day return to it. we are not strangers here as daddy watts reminded us: we share the same cosmic DNA as the trees and flowers, the same birthplace as the the genus panthera, the same air as everything on this planet, spinning together in infinite space.
